Police in Cobourg are looking for witnesses to an early morning incident that ended in a pedestrian being air lifted to a Toronto-area hospital, in serious condition.
It happened just before 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Division Street and James Street, with investigators saying the victim was hit by a car just south of the intersection.
That intersection will be closed for the time being as Cobourg Police and the OPP’s traffic investigators look into the incident.
Anyone who may have seen what happened, or may have dashcam footage from around that area early this morning, can contact Cobourg Police or Crimestoppers.
An earlier version of this story suggested this was a hit-and-run incident, but Cobourg Police say that was not the case and the vehicle in question stayed on the scene.
