Quinte West OPP officers laid some traffic charges this past Sunday for various offences.
The first traffic stop was made around 3:00 a.m. on South Trent Street in Frankford, where a 23-year-old man from Tyendinaga Township was charged with impaired driving, driving while suspended, obstructing plates, driving without a valid permit or insurance and driving with open liquor in the vehicle.
The driver had his licence suspended for 90 days and his car impounded for a week.
Then just after 2:00 p.m., an officer stopped a northbound car on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, after it was clocked going 126 km/h in the 60 km/h zone.
That driver, a Stirling-Rawdon resident, was charged with stunt driving, failing to have a permit or insurance and driving with open liquor.
The driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle impounded as well, both for a week.
