The Fire Chief in Marmora and Lake says a cross-province burn ban is being lifted by the Ministry of Natural Resources as of midnight tonight.
Small self-contained fires will be allowed if they’re used for cooking or heating, but fire officials are still discouraging any other open air burning, with no burn permits being issued.
Residents are reminded to be responsible with any burning they may conduct, have water on hand in case flames get out of control and to have a safe long weekend.
A burn ban in Tweed was also lifted.
