OPP arrest five people, including two from Quinte West, in child porn investigations

Five people, including two from Quinte West, have been charged after a group of non-related child pornography investigations.

The OPP’s Child Sexual Exploitation unit executed seven search warrants between May 4 and May 8 and say the breadth of the suspects “represent an example of the ongoing sexual interest in children across Ontario”.

The charges are as follows:

Twenty-two-year-old Tanner Raymond of Quinte West is charged with:

He was held for a Bail Hearing.

Thirty-three- year-old Simon Yalkezian of Cobourg is charged with:

• Making available child pornography x 5
• Accessing child pornography
• Possession of child pornography

He was held for a Bail Hearing.

Twenty-five-year-old James Aldworth of Cobourg is charged with:

• Luring a Child x 4
• Transmit explicit material to a child
• Indecent exposure to a child.

He was held for a Bail Hearing.

A 42-year-old woman from Trenton is charged with:

• Making child pornography
• Possession of child pornography x 2

She was held for a Bail Hearing and cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.

A 17-year-old man of Haldimand is charged with:

• Voyeurism
• Making available child pornography,
• Possession of child pornography
• Distribute intimate images without consent

He was released to his parents and cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act provision.

Police say while the cases aren’t connected “they highlight that offenders are of all age groups, employment and social economic classes” and that with more children isolating at home and getting online, it’s more important than ever for parents to educate their kids about online safety.
