As the weather improves there is sure to be an increase in the number of bikes, motorcycles and ATVs on area roadways, and that’s prompted OPP to put out a reminder to all drivers to share the road.
Police say cyclists and drivers have the same rights and responsibilities on the road and everyone should familiarize themselves with the appropriate rules and road safety guidelines.
Drivers are also being reminded to keep an eye out for cyclists and smaller vehicles by regularly checking mirrors and blind spots.
Meanwhile, ATV riders should be sure to check by-laws in their area, to know where and when they can ride their vehicles.
OPP say everyone working together will help to make area roadways as safe as they can be.
