Belleville Council has approved a total of just under $300,000 in various grant requests, split between social infrastructure and community arts and culture categories.
The city’s grant committee had to sift through a total of more than $1.14 million worth of requests and whittle the list down based on the merit of the applications and the money that was available.
On Friday $215,900 was awarded to 14 organizations through social infrastructure grants, with $45,000 to be split between 12 groups through the community arts and culture stream.
