The John M. & Bernice Parrott Foundation has made a major donation towards new equipment for health care education at Loyalist College.
The $750,000 donation is going towards a new Medical Radiation Technology lab, giving students hands on experience for careers in diagnostic imaging.
“The Parrott Foundation has a long history of responding to regional health care priorities, through funding for equipment in our local hospitals,” said Loyalist College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick. “This gift extends that impact in a powerful way. By investing in Loyalist students and the learning spaces that make hands-on training possible, the Foundation is helping prepare the skilled professionals who will use that equipment, care for patients and serve communities across our region for years to come.”
Loyalist launched its Medical Radiation Technology program in 2024 in response to growing demand for trained professionals in hospitals and clinical settings across Ontario. It is the only college outside a major urban centre to offer the program.
