The town of Brighton is following along with other local municipalities in taking precautions against the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
Here is the statement from the municipality:
The Municipality of Brighton is adhering to Health Canada’s guidelines through the COVID-19 outbreak. The following facilities are closed effective immediately until April 6, 2020.
King Edward Park Arena and Community Centre
Municipality of Brighton Library
Brighton YMCA
Codrington Hall
Hilton Hall
Curling Club (effective March 16, 2020 9pm)
Facilities Remaining OPEN
Public Works Operations Building (67 Sharp Road)
Municipality of Brighton Administration Office (35 Alice Street)
The General Public is encouraged to not attend these buildings unless the matter is urgent.
Notes:
All Board and Committee of Council Meetings are Cancelled for March and April
Tax installment due date has been extended to the last business day in May
March 16, 2020 Council Meeting will take place without delegations, and public question period. It is encouraged that the public do not attend.
