Ahead of one of the most important weeks of the season, the Belleville Senators all of a sudden find themselves in a bit of a goaltending conundrum.
Marcus Hogberg has been in the NHL with Ottawa since December and had to return to Sweden this week, to deal with a family emergency.
That led to Filip Gustavsson being called up to back up Craig Anderson and left Joey Daccord to take the reigns in Belleville.
However, Head Coach Troy Mann tells Quinte News that Daccord, who picked up a win in Cleveland last Friday, has since been injured and isn’t expected to play until maybe Saturday.
To fill the gaps, 25 year-old Alex Dubeau has been called up from ECHL Brampton, while 26 year-old Clint Windsor has been signed on a pro tryout from ECHL Orlando.
Dubeau has played 40 games with the Brampton Beast this season, with a record of 21-16-2-0 and has a 4.73 goals against average and .838 save percentage.
Windsor has played 29 games for the Orlando Solar Bears with a record of 14-12-2-0, a 2.51 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.
Dubeau is expected to start on Wednesday when the B-Sens host the Toronto Marlies.
Belleville is then home to the Rochester Americans on Friday and Saturday, with Rochester trailing Belleville by eight points for the North Division lead, coming into the week.
800 AM CJBQ has coverage of all three games this week, starting with the Coach’s Pregame Show at 6:50 p.m., for Eastern Overhead Doors and Deerhaven Farm and Garden.
