Quinte West councillors got an in-depth look at how a piece of art outside City Hall was designed and made.
Paul Vreugdenhil from The Machining Centre went through the design and build process for the metal globe, which was commissioned and built by Horizon Metal Works and depicts the four wards of the city.
Vreugdenhil says the globe wouldn’t have been possible without the cooperation between The Machining Centre, Horizon Metal Works and Research Castings International.
The globe, which lights up at night and changes colours, was unveiled during the mayor’s levee on New Year’s Day.
