Police and Correctional Service of Canada staff are investigating an assault at Collins Bay Institution.
Staff say on Thursday night around 10:45 p.m. an inmate was assaulted at the medium-security unit.
The inmate was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
No staff or other inmates were injured during the incident.
