A Prince Edward County man has been charged after a car hit a police cruiser during a traffic stopĀ in Tyendinaga Township, early this morning.
An officer responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 49 around 1:30 this morning and their cruiser was hit by the suspect vehicle in an attempt to pull the driver over.
A second unit was called in to help with the traffic stop and the driver, 30-year-old Brennan David Markland was eventually charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, driving with cannabis readily available, possessing unmarked cigarettes and driving without insurance.
Markland is facing a 90-day licence suspension and a week-long vehicle impound, and has a future court date scheduled in Napanee.
