The CEO of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce says she’s identified two areas where they will try to make big strides in the new year.
Giving her year-end comments to Quinte News, Suzanne Andrews says one big issue across the city, country and beyond is a lack of skilled workers, to take open jobs.
But she also says, it’s not just about the low number of workers, it’s also about the type of training they’re getting and keeping them here at home.
She adds that heading into the new year, they’ll be leaning on the provincial government for more support in addressing that challenge.
And she says, of course, they’ll continue to do everything they can to support businesses and business people in Quinte West and the region, as a whole.
