A joint investigation by area police forces has led to six arrests in connection with a series of break and enters recently in Quinte West, Northumberland, Centre Hastings and Belleville.
Officers from the Belleville Police Service and Quinte West OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed three search warrants last Thursday (December 5, 2019) on one car, along with a home on Sidney Street in Belleville and another on Crown Street in Trenton.
Police found methamphetamine and various stolen property, and have charged two men and two women from Trenton, a man from Belleville and a man from Ottawa.
The charges are as follows:
36-year-old Damion Lavanious of Trenton is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Fail to Comply with a Recognizance (x4 Counts)
- Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
- Break and Enter Residence (x5 Counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
38-year-old Aaron Climan of Ottawa, 30-year-old Kyle Laird and 43-year-old Natasha Maroney of Trenton, are charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
29-year-old Kimberlee Smith of Trenton and 28-year-old Joshua Morgan of Belleville are charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 (x3 Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
All six have bail hearings scheduled for today.
