Visits have been suspended at Collins Bay Institution after a lockdown was put in place.
Prison staff say they called for the lockdown around 8:00 last night so they could conduct a search of the institution to ensure the safety of staff and inmates.
There’s been no word on how long the lockdown will last but staff say normal operations will begin once it’s considered safe to do so.
