Northumberland OPP are investigating the suspicious death of an inmate at Warkworth Institution.
Police were notified Saturday, about the death of 43-year-old Joseph Archibald, who had been serving a 12 year sentence for breaking and entering, robbery, possession of property obtained by crime and breaching probation.
No other details were released by police, or by staff at the medium-security federal prison, but the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit has taken over the investigation, along with the Criminal Investigations Branch and the Correctional Service of Canada.
