Belleville Police have arrested a man who was wanted on a warrant by Quinte West OPP, for various sex-related charges.
While officers were dealing with an investigation just before 5:30 p.m. yesterday, they were tipped off to a 21-year-old man nearby who was wanted in Quinte West on charges of assault (two counts), sexual assault, assault with a weapon and failing to attend court.
Tyson William Thomas Cooney was taken into custody and transferred to Quinte West, with a bail hearing scheduled for today.
Officers also arrested a 23-year-old Belleville man around 8:00 p.m. after responding to a disturbance call near Albion Street.
Tyler Scott Ruttan also had a warrant out for charges of breaching probation and failing to appear in court.
He was released on a promise to appear on December 5.
