The Special Investigations Unit has stopped investigating an allegation of physical abuse against a Kingston Police Service officer.
The accusations were made during a separate investigation in February 2019, but investigators from the SIU were unable to reach the woman for a statement, despite multiple attempts.
SIU Interim Director John Martino says without a statement there is “an insufficient foundation from which to continue with the SIU investigation” and they also can’t determine if the injuries reported are serious enough for the SIU to invoke its mandate in the first place.
