The provincial government is stepping up with an added funding commitment to help the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg.
MPP David Piccini announced today a $3.79 million funding boost, as part of the province’s commitment to addressing long-standing funding shortages in medium-sized hospitals Ontario-wide.
Piccini says the cash will help ensure that families in Northumberland continue to have access to high quality care. It will also help protect existing core services in the community and promote the sustainability of hospital operations.
Hospital CEO Linda Davis called the announcement “a turning point in the evolution of Northumberland Hills Hospital” and says the money will help address the redistribution of medical-surgical inpatient beds in their 2A and 2B units.
