The mayor of Quinte West says the partnership between the province, municipalities and the feds is critical for cell and internet coverage locally.
On Friday in Northumberland County, the Ontario Minister of Infrastructure announced $71 million for the Eastern Ontario Rural Network.
It will complete full cell coverage, and high-speed internet throughout eastern Ontario.
Mayor Jim Harrison says the province and municipalities have done their part.
The entire project is valued at more than $210 million, and was spearheaded by the Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus.
