Northumberland OPP have charged a Quinte West man with impaired driving on Christmas Eve.
Police say they received a report of a possibly impaired driver on the 401 around 4:30 a.m. near Cobourg.
Officers located the vehicle which was swerving and unable to stay in a marked lane.
Ahmed Ali Noureldin Mahmoud Abou Elemein, 36, was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of cocaine, resisting a peace officer and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
He’ll appear in Cobourg court on January 16.
