A new family doctor will be practising in Tweed starting this summer.
At Thursday’s meeting of Hastings County council it was announced that Dr Jonathan Villa Alvarez will practise at the Gateway Community Health Team.
Dr. Villa Alvarez took advantage of the county’s Family Physician Recruitment Program in which $150,000 is paid to medical students or residents in exchange for at least five years of practise in the county.
He was the 24th family doctor to sign on to the program.
