Tyendinaga Township could be in for a lame duck council.
At Monday night’s council meeting, CAO Steve Mercer updated council on the situation with the upcoming municipal election.
He says Reeve Rick Phillips and Deputy Reeve Adam Hannafin have both filed papers for the October election, along with Councillor Heather Lang.
CAO Mercer explains their situation.
That means they need at least one more current councillor to file paper work. Wayne Chadwick, and Don McFarlane are the other current councillors.
Mercer says in a lame duck position, the rules change.
Some land transactions also apply.
