Quinte West council will be asked to approve another big infrastructure project at its meeting Monday night.
Staff is recommending council approve a tender from Peak Engineering and Construction to rebuild the Dundas Street sewage pumping station in Trenton, twin the Trent River crossing, and twin the forcemain through Centennial Park through to the sewage treatment plant.
Peak Engineering’s bid was the lowest of five at close to $16.3 million.
The current sewer line under the Trent River is 70 years old as is the forcemain through Centennial Park.
It’s proposed the work in the river be done in the fall of next year.
