An additional charge has been laid on a 70-year-old Tyendinaga Township woman as a result of an OPP investigation into runaway horses.
On Thursday, officers with the Napanee OPP Crime Unit charged Charlotte Bright with breach of recognizance after she had already been charged with mischief two weeks ago.
She’s in custody for a bail hearing.
The investigation started after police received numerous calls of horses roaming free in the Blessington Road area, and the overall health and welfare of the animals on the farm was brought forward as a concern as well.
The Napanee OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation and is asking motorists to exercise caution while driving in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Napanee Crime Unit at 1-888-310-1122 or should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
