The Quinte Economic Development Commission is reaching out overseas to attract companies to the Quinte area.
Business development Officer Vicki Bristow Ferguson told the Commission Tuesday that the office works all over the world attracting companies to invest in Canada.
Bristow Ferguson said her job is to convince them to do that in the Bay of Quinte region, concentrating on the food industry.
She was at the Swedish consulate in Toronto recently and says a company from that country is interested in this area.
Ferguson says it’s important that when a foreign company does come to Canada the Bay of Quinte is the first location it considers.
