The Belleville Police Service responded to 66 calls for service between May 5, 2018 at 5 a.m. and May 6, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On May 5, 2018, at 7:09 p.m. officers attended on North Front Street in relation to a two-car collision. Both cars were towed from the scene. Both drivers were treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries. One driver was charged with “failing to turn out to the left to avoid a collision”.
Three-day suspensions
On May 5, 2018, at 9:10 p.m. officers attended in the drive-through lane of a restaurant on North Front Street in relation to a driver under the influence of alcohol. The driver registered a ‘warn’ on an approved screening device. His licence was suspended for three days and his vehicle was towed. The 59-year-old Belleville man was also charged for being an unlicenced driver.
On May 6, 2018, at 3:09 a.m. an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on North Front Street. A 21-year-old Belleville man was issued a three day licence suspension as a result of registering a ‘warn’ on an approved screening device.
Intoxicated person
On May 6, 2018, at 1:30 a.m. a Boswell Street resident called police advising that an unknown male was banging on her door. The intoxicated male was located on Coleman Street and arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. The 39-year-old Belleville man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
