A colourful political personality will run for a new party in the June provincial election.
An outspoken former candidate for mayor of Belleville, Lonnie Herrington, will run for the recently
created Trillium Party of Ontario in the Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding.
Herrington ran for mayor in 2014, the same year the Trillium Party came into existence.
Herrington lives in Thurlow ward and is married with four adult children and owns a construction business.
The Trillium Party of Ontario stands for more accessible daycare, public ownership of hydro, the repeal of the Green Energy Act, the repeal of the new sex-ed curriculum, and smaller government in general.
Other candidates running in Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding are Daryl Kramp for the PCs, Nate Smelle for the NDP, and Tim Rigby for the Liberals.
