It’s spring and for many people that means gardening.
Residents of Belleville and Hastings County can register for access to the free plots offered through the Community Development Council of Quinte.
This year there will be eight garden locations in Belleville and Frankford, for 100 raised garden beds.
Coordinator Jim Mallabar says it’s a way of getting health food for a low price.
Mallabar says the Development Council was able to offer more beds this year because of a grant from the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
Anyone interested in one of the free plots can get more information at the following: qfb@cdcquinte.com , www.cdcquinte.com or contact Garden Coordinator Jim Mallabar at 613-968-2466.
