For the first time the Ontario Farmland Trust is bringing a forum on farmland protection to Eastern Ontario and Prince Edward County will be the host.
The 14th annual Farmland Forum is being held April 5th at the Wellington District Community Centre, featuring a full day of speakers and presentations on protecting farm land from development.
The OFT’s Krista Long says it’s crucial to share that information with farmers, developers and municipal planners alike.
Long adds that once farm land is developed we can’t get it back.
And she says the day before the event, OFT Executive Director Kathryn Enders will hold a Q & A session on farm easements to help protect their properties.
The cost of the forum is $140 for general admission, $100 for farmers and $60 for students.
