Staff for the City of Belleville have a message for the province as it makes plans for the widening of Highway 401 through the city.
Staff believe that under the preliminary design, not enough attention has been paid to making sure there are good routes across the highway for pedestrians and cyclists.
Belleville council will be asked to endorse its staff’s position at its meeting tomorrow (Monday).
A city report says the 401 has effectively cut the community in half and that should change when the project is finished.
