The Belleville Senators got into the festive spirit on Monday, visiting a number of units at both Belleville General Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Wearing Santa and elf hats, players met with patients and staff, signed some autographs and sang Christmas carols to try and spread some holiday cheer.
Quinte Health Care’s Catherine Walker says the visit was a big morale boost for staff and patients and was an extremely meaningful event.
B-Sens captain Michael Blunden says giving back to the community is one of the most important things the players can do away from the rink.
It’s been a busy couple of community-oriented weeks for the team, which also recently made some visits to local schools and significant donations to the Quinte Children’s Foundation and the Gleaner’s Food Bank.
