An expansion for a local distribution company put a 77% spike on building permit values in Quinte West last month, compared to November 2016.
Chief Building Official Phillip Lappan says the permit application, valued close to $3.5 million, was submitted by Taskforce Engineering and will allow the company to build a larger facility in the North Murray Industrial Park.
While November saw a spike, total building value to date is down 13% from last year.
Permits were also issued for 15 new single family homes, bringing the total to date to 216.
That’s higher than the 156 permits for single family homes issued to the end of November last year.
