The City of Belleville is reporting an act of vandalism at its Christmas light display at Meyers Pier.
Somebody cut through the wires of the 24-foot Christmas tree and city officials are asking residents to report anything suspicious they may have seen around the display.
On Twitter Tuesday afternoon, Councillor Egerton Boyce noted that money to fix the display would have to come from the Lighting Committee’s overall budget and that that cash is better spent on new items, instead of repairs.
