Hastings County has signed a new wage contract with the Canadian Union of Public Employees for employees at its two Long Term Care facilities.
The collective agreement, announced at county council Thursday, gives 400 full and part time staff a 2% pay hike retroactive for this year, 1% for 2018, and 1.5% in 2019.
The contract covers staff such as personal support workers, custodial and maintenance workers at Hastings Manor in Belleville and Centennial Manor in Bancroft.
CAO Jim Pine calls it a “reasonable contract.”
President of CUPE Local 1133, Val Wemp Rochford, says the negotiations with the county went “very well”.
County Council also approved a 2% increase for non-union employees, effective January first.
