Prince Edward County firefighters had to help a pair of hunters out of a marshy area near Big Island this morning.
The pair were in a canoe that tipped around 9:10 a.m., causing firefighters, OPP and EMS to respond to the scene, between Northport and South Big Island Road.
Both people spent about 25 minutes in the cold water and were taken to hospital by EMS, but are said to be fine.
The Prince Edward County Fire Department boat out of Picton and firefighters from stations one and four were involved in the rescue.
