Hockey Canada has announced its tryout camp roster for Team Canada East at the upcoming World Junior A Challenge and there is lots of local talent who have a shot at making the team.
Wellington Dukes defender Mason Snell and forward Ben Evans are part of the 40 man invite list, along with Belleville native Aidan Girduckis, who is currently playing with the CCHL’s Carleton Place Canadians.
Also invited to camp are Kingston Voyageurs defenceman Colin Van Den Hurk, who hails from Havelock, Bloomfield-born goaltender Jett Alexander of the North York Rangers and former Quinte Red Devil Mac Lowry from the Cobourg Cougars.
Wellington Dukes coach Scott McCrory has been invited as a guest coach and Trenton Golden Hawks boss Marty Abrams will be the team’s goaltending coach.
The tryout camp runs from December 2nd to 5th and the tournament is being held in Truro, Nova Scotia, from December 10th to 16th.
