It’s now smooth sailing on Bridge Street heading through downtown Belleville.
City officials and others marked the completion of what’s known as Phase 3 A of the downtown Belleville revitalization project today (Monday).
Starting in the spring, the rest of Front Street to Dundas West, including work in Market Square will be rebuilt.
Mayor of Belleville, Taso Christopher was asked if any consideration was being given to an ice rink in the downtown.
The total budget for the downtown work is set at $35 million, and barring any major surprises, the project should come in on or under budget.
Len Corcoran Excavating, which has done all of the work so far, will also do the last stretch to Dundas West.
