OPP are investigating an incident where a cruiser was hit during a traffic detour on the 401.
Officers were using orange traffic cones, flares and a pair of cruisers to alert drivers of a closure in the eastbound lanes near County Road 30 and the Trenton ONroute on Sunday night.
Around 12:30 a.m. a 37-year-old driver in a blue 2016 Ford Focus didn’t slow down for the blockade and smashed into one of the cruisers, causing significant damage to both cars.
The Frankford woman and her 3-year-old child were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, while neither of the officers was hurt, since they were outside their vehicles.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
