A Northumberland OPP officer was injured, but not seriously, after being dragged down a driveway by a car on Wednesday north of Cobourg.
Around 5:30 p.m. the off duty officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in a driveway on Hircock Road, in Hamilton Township and saw four men run from the back of the home and get into a white Cadillac.
The officer approached the car, identified himself and asked the driver to shut off the engine, but the car accelerated down the driveway, dragging the officer alongside.
The officer let go of the car and it was last seen headed northbound on Nagle Road.
A check of the property found a backyard trailer had been ransacked, but nothing was taken.
The white Cadillac has Ontario plates that end in 740.
The driver was described as an 18 to 20-year-old man, clean shaven, with light brown skin.
He was wearing a red baseball cap, red hooded sweat top and jeans.
The other suspects/passengers are also described as white men around 18 to 20- years-old.
One was about 5’10” with heavy build, a round face and collar length brown, curly hair.
The other two were both about 5’7”, medium builds, with brown hair and wearing dark clothing.
