Dukes win penalty-filled affair
The Wellington Dukes won their sixth game in their last seven with a 5-3 victory over the Stouffville Spirit Friday night.
The game saw 71 minutes in penalties called by the referees.
Mitchell Mendonca and Ben Evans each notched three points, with Mendonca scoring twice.
Colin Doyle and Andrew Rinaldi each scored a goal and added an assist in the victory as well.
Single assists went to Declan Carlile, Eric Uba, Zach Uens and Mitchell Martan
Pierce Nelson stopped 28 of 31 Spirit shots in the win. Shots favoured Wellington 51-31
The Dukes are home to Markham at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Sunday.
G-Hawks comeback falls short
Two third-period goals was not enough to complete a comeback for the Trenton Golden Hawks in a 4-3 loss on the road to the Markham Royals.
Matt Nastasiuk, Max Ewart and Rex Moe all scored for Trenton.
Michael Silveri and Brandon Marinelli posted two assists, Kevin Stiles and Jake Behse added single helpers.
Carson Poulin made 35 saves in a losing cause. Markham won the shot count, 39-36.
Trenton is on the road again to face the Orangeville Flyers Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Raiders rout Rebels
In Jr. C, Austin Labelle, Ryan Casselman and Riley Steeves all recorded five points for the Napanee Raiders in a 14-0 rout of the Campbellford Rebels.
Labelle had a hat-trick, while Casselman scored twice and Steeves once.
Other goals went to Jake Campbell (2), Josh Murphy (2), Justynn Steven, Cullen Hinds and Reid Kekewich.
Special notice is made to Rebels goalie Mike Ellis, who played the whole game in net, making 60 saves on 74 shots. Meantime, Jeremy Piazzi had a easy shutout of just 14 saves for Napanee.
