Officials with the Trenton Care and Share Food Bank say residents of Quinte West donated about seven tonnes of non-perishable goods last weekend, which is down slightly from last year.
However, Food Bank Manager Al Teal is saying a big thank you to those who left food out for collection and that the food bank understands it can be tough to make donations, given the current economic climate.
Teal says the donated food should help get the food bank through the next two months and when you add monetary donations, they should be able to get through to at least December.
While the food drive is over, donations are always welcome and you can visit the Care and Share Food Bank website to find out how.
