Quinte West OPP are looking for a man involved in a suspicious gift card incident in Murray Ward.
Investigators say an elderly woman called them on Wednesday saying that around 10:00 a.m. she got a phone call from a woman, who told her she had won a $500 gift card and that a representative would drop it off to her.
Later that day, a man showed up at her home and presented the gift card, asked to use the phone and left.
The homeowner told police she heard the man mention that the house had a key in a lock box, during the phone call he made, which she found suspicious.
Police determined that the gift card was counterfeit and had no value and have put out a description of the suspect.
He’s white and clean cut, in his mid 20s, with short dark hair and was wearing a white t-shirt.
