Environment Canada has put a weather advisory in place as much of Southern Ontario deals with some off-and-on storms.
In Belleville, Quinte West and Northumberland County, conditions are favourable for the development of funnel clouds, with some parts of the region already seeing thunderstorms, hail and heavy winds today.
While funnel clouds are not expected to pose much danger, there is a slight chance they could develop into tornadoes and Environment Canada says you should take funnel clouds seriously and take shelter if you see one.
The thunderstorms are expected to dissipate into the evening.
We’ll provide any updates as conditions change.
