A man who was convicted in 2015, of running down a Waterloo Regional Police officer, has died at Warkworth Institution.
Thirty-two- year-old Adam Woodman, who was serving a close to five year sentence for dangerous driving and aggravated assault of a police officer, died on Monday at the federal prison.
Woodman was arrested in 2013 after he and two others stole items from a Kitchener-area grocery store and during a police chase, Woodman hit the officer with his car, as shots were being fired towards him.
Circumstances of the death weren’t released, but Assistant Warden Scott MacPherson says attempts to perform CPR on Woodman were unsuccessful and an investigation is continuing.
