The local YMCA Strong Kids Campaign is just $20,000 away from its goal, with a few months to go and key donors to the cause got a special thank you today.
Donors took part in a recognition barbecue at the Belleville branch Wednesday afternoon, where they got a chance to see some of the activities that campers have taken part in all summer.
The Y’s Amanda Boldrick tells Quinte News, it was important to show donors where their money actually goes.
The donors were also presented with thank you gifts, which were hand-painted by campers.
Boldrick says having the campers paint those pictures added a nice personal touch to the afternoon.
Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group also presented a $5,000 cheque to the campaign, which is trying to raise $170,000 this year.
