Provincial Police had to deal with two serious incidents in the Trent Lakes and Havelock areas on the weekend, where people were either hurt or killed.
On Saturday, a 27-year-old Cambridge man suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, after the boat he was driving crashed into the shore on Gold Lake, just before 1:30 p.m.
He was air-lifted to a Kingston area trauma centre and remains in serious condition.
Witnesses told police they saw the boat speeding before the wreck.
Meanwhile on Sunday, a 36-year-old Scarborough man died while riding his dirt bike on Devil’s Four Mile Road near Havelock.
Investigators say he hit a tree and was pronounced dead when he arrived at Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
