OPP say a man they’re chasing, wanted in connection to a domestic incident in Quinte West and other charges, has been stealing vehicles in the area in his attempts to get away.
Police have been searching for 33-year-old Richard Vader of Quinte West since Wednesday and say that Thursday afternoon he was spotted driving a stolen truck in the Campbellford area.
When officers tried to stop him, he drove over a curb, ditched the vehicle behind a Second Street business and took off towards Ferris Provincial Park.
Then just before 2 a.m. Friday, Stirling-Rawdon police were told a truck had been stolen from a home on Hoards Road and investigators found an abandoned ATV at the scene, which they believe was taken from a home just south of Ferris Park.
Police think Vader is responsible for both thefts and are asking anyone who sees him, or the stolen truck, to contact them.
The truck is a black 2003 GMC Sierra, with Ontario plates A-S-2-6-5-7-8.
