A Belleville man has been sentenced to jail time in a Brampton court, in connection with a child luring investigation, dating back to 2015.
In October of that year, Investigators working on an online undercover operation, posed as a 13 year-old girl and connected with the man, who had expressed interest in meeting for a sexual purpose.
A few weeks later, he was arrested in the Mississauga area, while police searched his home in Belleville and he was charged with two counts of child luring.
The now 52 year-old man, whose name is protected by court-ordered publication ban, was sentenced to five months in jail, two years probation and is banned from attending anywhere minors frequent for two years as well.
He also has to submit a DNA sample, have his name added to the sex offender registry and pay a $200 surcharge.
