Prince Edward County council will make an important decision that will affect residents’ water and sewer bills for years to come tomorrow (Tuesday).
At its regular meeting, council will vote on a recommendation that would see water and sewer rates increase by 5% through 2019, another 4% in 2020, and another 1.1% in 2021.
The rate increases would take effect this Saturday, Canada Day.
The increases are seen as necessary to keep revenues in line with the costs of running the water and sewer systems in the county.
There are 6 water systems in Prince Edward County, and 2 sewer systems.
Prince Edward County council meets at 7 tomorrow (Tuesday) night at Shire Hall in Picton.
